The 12th Reading Sharing Session
On the evening of October 21st, the teachers of the Junior High Department of the west campus gathered in the lecture hall to review the classic novel ‘How the Steel was Tempered’ with teacher Jiao Na.
To be concrete, ‘How the Steel was Tempered’ is an excellent novel written by former Soviet Union writer Nikolai Ostrovsky according to his own experience. The life of the hero Paul is legendary, even after he experienced numerous setbacks, and even in the face of hardships, he was still able to rely on his strong will and unwaverving faith to stay true to himself.
Later on, teacher Jiao Na shared her thoughts on reading the novel, who told everyone through Paul's growth path that only when a person conquers the enemy and himself in the difficulties and hardships of the revolution, and associates his pursuit with the interests of the motherland, can he create a miracle and become a soldier of steel.
To sum up, reading ‘How the Steel was Tempered’ let us understand that endeavor is the undertone of youth. Therefore, we shouldn’t waste our efforts. Instead, we should have a clear conscience. Just like Paul, we are supposed to send and pass on our faith in education and the feelings of endeavor to the moon and the world.
